In January of 2007 Lindsay Taliento was hired to pilot a Job Development program for Monroe County (Rochester, New York) Department of Social Services. As a publicly funded program, their aim was to raise the number of people moving from public assistance to the workforce by providing job readiness training and opportunities to interview with qualified employers in the greater Rochester area. A short six months later, Lindsay proved an enormous success: the unique, service-oriented approach to placement and training was helping dozens of individuals transition into stable, fulfilling jobs each month.

In August of 2007,  Lindsay founded Career Start as a private employment firm to continue serving those people in Monroe County seeking to move from public assistance to the workforce.  In the near future, Career Start  fully intends to expand the scope of their services to individuals and organizations throughout the whole of Upstate New York.
